And the roll continues…. Yesterday, the air conditioning was out at the Sanford Museum and so the curator closed the collections except for the entrance area and the archives. She and I worked all day to identify the last DeForest letters I wanted and to scan, measure, and compile the metadata for the list of items I sent her earlier in the week. I shouldn’t be surprised that sending a shorter specific list in advance would speed up the scanning process, but I am a little. And what am I a lot? I am a lot wishing I could have been ready like that earlier in the semester.
I’m also fully aware that this work will not be finished by the time the semester is over. (I’m pretty sure I mentioned something in a previous blog about the term “done” or “complete” be an idea and never an actual state of being so I’m reflecting on those comments again today. 🙂 ) Yet, I am committed to “finishing” what I have started. I really like the framework I have created and the more I work on it, the more I want to use it in my classroom when I return next year. I want to test it out and see what students think, what they like and don’t like, what they get and what they struggle with, etc.
Although, I don’t intend to blog weekly once this semester finishes. I do intend to continue posting periodically to reflect on my work on the module as I finish it and next year as I take my ideas back to my coworkers and students!
